David Kipley Kip Swindell - 53
Of Salem, VA, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Salem Veteran's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Swindell was born July 8, 1960, in El Paso, TX. His mother is Barbara Chittenden Swindell of Naylor, GA, and his father and step-mother are Paul and Mary Swindell of Valdosta, GA. Mr. Swindell was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Shane Swindell; his maternal grandparents Annella Wilkes Chittenden and Victor Eugene Chittenden; and his paternal grandfather Bernard Swindell. Mr. Swindell was a Navy veteran, having served both active duty and in the Naval Reserve, and a licensed Electrician. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and his cats. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Pittsburgh Steelers. "Thanks for being in my life." – Ellen Moyer
