Mrs. Delila Bennett, 89, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at her daughters’ home. She was born on December 26, 1935 in Anniston, Alabama to the late William “Bill” Mange and Mary Etta Pitts Mange. She worked as a cashier at Winn Dixie for 18 years and then went to work with Dowling Bag Company for 10 years. After Dowling Bag Company closed, she went to work at Harvey’s Supermarket for 21 years where she retired. She enjoyed meeting her customers and she always mentioned them. She was devoted member to Trinity Baptist Church for 40 years and loved her Lord and Savior.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bennett; a son, Gary E. Bennett; her sister, Thelma Burr (Robert) and her brother, Fred Mange, Jr. (Joyce).
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Stinson (Rickey), Troy, Alabama; son, Timothy A. Bennett (Kizzy), Valdosta, GA; daughter-in-law, Jessica Terry Bennett; grandchildren: Alesa Bennett, Destiny Bennett, Jasmine Bennett, Eli Bennett, Jacobi Edmonds, Kai Bennett and Cheyenne Bennett; great grandchildren: Isaiah Parham, Jermiah Bennett, Maya Clark, Aurora Plott and Da’Kira Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta with burial to follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Naylor, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the funeral home.
