Deloris Wilson Dampier, age 74, of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 30, 1949, in Millen, Georgia to the late John Henry and Minnie Blanch (Weeks) Wilson. Deloris loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Most Saturday nights, you could find her dancing and having a good time. She enjoyed going to yard sales along with canning tomatoes. She loved flowers, boxer bulldogs, especially her fur baby Maggie. Deloris was known to speak her peace regardless of any situation. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Alex Kinder Fox and William Henry “Bill” Wilson, sister, Betty Wilson, and two sons, Patrick Pilkinton and Bradley Dampier.
Survivors include her daughter Vicky Hufstetler and husband Bit of Lakeland, Georgia; son, Torey Miley and wife Monica of Lakeland, Georgia; grandchildren: Joshua Pilkinton, Kayla Hufstetler, Heather Pilkinton, Victoria Hufstetler, Torey Lee Miley, Jr., Evan Yearby, Jordan Miley, Marley Miley; great grandchildren: Kayle, Kaebryn, Jasmine, and Tabatha; brother, Louis Griffin of Moultrie, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 4, 2023, in the Lakeland chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia.
