Dennis M. Benefield

Dennis M. Benefield, age 68, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Berrien Nursing Center. He was born on July 22, 1958, in Hahira, Georgia, to the late Enoch Elijah and Ruth Ellen (Browning) Benefield. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tim Benefield, and sister-in-law, Patricia Benefield.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Rose Benefield of Lakeland, Georgia; son, T.J. Benefield (Jessica) of Lakeland, Geogia; stepson, Henry Steedley (Molly) of Homerville, Georgia; 4 grandchildren, Clayton Benefield, Nathan Benefield, Sam Steedley, Jackson Steedley; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated with burial to follow in Branches Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
