Of 454 Howard Circle in Stockton passed away Thursday night, October 26, 2006 at his residence. He was born on July 18th, 1936 in Lax, GA to the late William Gilmore Petty and Maude Broome Petty Harrison. He was preceded in death by his step father, Dan Harrison, one brother, Raymond Petty and one sister, Lois Robinson. He had lived at his current residence for the past 4 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired painter by trade. He was of the Baptist faith.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, October 28th, 2006 in Lakeland, GA. At the request of Mr. Petty, there will not be a formal funeral service. The body will later be cremated.

The family has asked that no flowers be sent. Donations may be made to the spouse in his memory.
