Donald Willis Boatwright, Sr. – 60
Of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on August 15, 1964, in Orlando, Florida, to the late Walter Ellis Boatwright and Martha Jean (Davenport) Hosti.
Donald dedicated much of his career to working as a Maintenance Technician with SAFT in Valdosta, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. Throughout his life, he was known for his craftsmanship and ability to lend his talents to anyone in need, whether it was repairing vehicles or building something from scratch.
Outside of his professional life, Donald was an avid outdoorsman. He was a passionate bass fisherman who enjoyed being on the water in his boat and running trot lines to catch catfish. He had a deep love for the Tennessee Mountains, where he frequently traveled to camp and fish.
Donald shared a special bond with his black lab, Eli who was the epitome of a “Mans Best Friend”.
Along with his father, Donald is preceded in death by his stepfather, Tony Hosti and step grandson, Gage Coleman.
Survivors include his son, Donald Boatwright, Jr. (Selina) of Fleming Island, Florida; stepson, Shannon Hall (Jessica) of Naylor, Georgia; brothers: Bobby Lee Boatwright (Candice) of Live Oak, Florida, Walter “Sonny” Ellis Boatwright, Jr. of Clermont, Florida, John Wesley Boatwright of Pinetta, Florida, and William “Billy” Thomas Boatwright (Angela) of Jasper, Florida; mother, Martha Jean Hosti of Pinetta, Florida; mother of his child, Nancy K. Boatwright of Lake Park, Georgia; former wife, Nancy Lynn Boatwright of Valdosta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta.
