Donald Edward Vaughn

Donald Edward Vaughn – 78 of Lakeland, GA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 23, 2020 in the comfort and embrace of his family and home. He was born on April 20, 1942 in Lakeland, GA to the late Lula Rogers and Horace Vaughn. Donald was a graduate of Lanier County High School and went on to become a dental technician and later owning his own practice. He served in The United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Donald was a family man; his main focus was always his beloved wife, children, and later on grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings, primarily fish fries were his favorite event. Fishing, hunting, and gardening were hobbies he enjoyed as well. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his children: Deborah Vaughn and baby Vaughn; brothers: Billy Vaughn, Horace Vaughn, Jr., and John A. Vaughn; sisters, Margaret V. Royals and Mary Nell V. Chaney.
Survivors include his loving wife of 14 years, Carolyn Exum Vaughn of Lakeland, GA; Daughters: Donna F. Williams of Sparks, GA, Dana V. Spell and husband Randy of Ray City, GA; Sons, Donald Vaughn, Jr and wife Lisa of Lakeland, GA, Darren Vaughn (Sonya) of Lakeland, GA, Derrek Vaughn of Lakeland, GA, Douglas Vaughn of Adel, GA; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; Stepchildren: Stacey Bowen and wife Lenore of Alapaha, GA, Lisa Fender and husband Michael of Nashville, GA; Brothers: Jimmy Vaughn and wife Diane of Lakeland, GA, Charles Vaughn and wife Grace of Lakeland, GA; Sister, Judy V. Palmer of Lakeland, GA.
Graveside services honoring Donald’s life will be held on Thursday June 25, 2020 at 7:00 PM in the Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City, GA. Mr. Bob Harland and Derrek Vaughn will speak at the service.
