Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Meigs, GA on June 2, 1929 to the late Hugo & Bertha Jackson. She was formerly of Adel and had lived in Valdosta for the past 2 years. Mrs. Chastain is a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Chastain, 2 sons, Roger Chastain and Alvin Chastain.
Survivors include: Daughter & Son-in-law, Debbie & Bro. Billy Cox, Hawkinsville, GA, 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law, Johnny & Rachel Chastain, Valdosta, GA, Larry & Nancy Chastain, Waycross, GA, 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, Sister, Merlene Jackson, Thomasville, GA, Brother, Hayward Jackson, Morgan, LA
Graveside services were held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 29, 2006 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, GA.
