Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was born November 24, 1921 in Lawrenceburg, KY to the late Alfred & Margaret McGlophen Hoffield. Ms. Atkinson was a member of New Bethel Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Atkinson is proceeded in death by her husband, Frederick Atkinson.
Survivors include her Son & Daughter-in-law, Billy & Mary Atkinson of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren, George Lisa Atkinson of McDonough, GA, Mimi Daniel Merrett of Smyrna, GA, William Virginia Atkinson of Lake Park, GA; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; And several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00A.M. at New Bethel Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
