Dorothy "Dot" Browning Shiver – 74
Of Lakeland, GA passed away Friday September 27, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born August 1, 1939 in Lanier County, GA to the late Leamon and Evelyn Hand Browning. She retired from Harvey's Supermarkets after 20 years of service. Mrs. Dot was a active member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She was very instrumental in rebuilding and restarting the church.
Survivors: Husband for 44 years, Wallace Shiver, Lakeland, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Lynn & Pete Novak, Americus, GA, Daughter & Son-in-law, Sandra & Keith Courson, Lakeland, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Ricky & Michelle Shiver, Lakeland, GA; 4 Grandchildren: Jennifer Novak, Tanner Courson, Nicky Shiver & Bree Shiver; Brother & Sister-in-law, John L. & Jean Browning, Griffin, GA and Nephew, John L. Browning, Jr. & Becky, Griffin, GA
Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Monday, September 30, 2013 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery. She will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the service. The family will be receiving friends and family at the funeral home Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 4:00PM-6:00PM.
