Dorothy M. Stewart, 82, of Valdosta passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006 in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Nashville, GA on January 23, 1924 to the late Zachariah & Eunice Dorminey Buckholtz. She was a member of Homerville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Stewart, 2 daughters, Senora Astles & Venida Carmack, 3 sisters, Berth Lou A. Buckholtz, Effie Clements Ray & Mildred Colson, & 2 brothers, TN Buckholtz & Adolphus Buckholtz.
Survivors include: Son & Daughter-in-law, Larry & Nancy Stewart of Valdosta; 4 Grandchildren, Kimberly Stewart, Darrell Stewart, Denise Stewart, Justin Carmack all of Valdosta; 4 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Doris Sanders of New Smyrna, FL; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
