Dr. William Brent Fredenberger

Dr. William Brent Fredenberger, age 87, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026. He was born to loving parents, Henry W. Fredenberger and Mary Florence Bullock Fredenberger in Louisville, KY on July 15, 1939.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, flying F-4 fighter jets and rescue helicopters during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he began a distinguished career in education, serving as a college professor at Valdosta State University for 30 years before retiring. He later continued sharing his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he taught for an additional 10 years.

When he was not working or teaching, he enjoyed spending time horseback riding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Connie Fredenberger, his first wife and his second wife, Lucretia “Chrissy” Fredenberger.

Dr. Fredenberger is survived by his stepchildren, Ronald Allen (Jayne) of Valdosta, GA, Steve Griffin of Hahira, GA, Scott Griffin (Sarah) of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Derek Griffin (Kerri) Gainesville, GA, Rene Love (Butch) of Gainesville, FL, Dr. Ron Allen (Jennifer) of Valdosta, GA, Simone Lay of Alabama, Dana Moser (Butch) of Hahira, GA;, Stephanie Robinson (Dustin) of Valdosta, GA and Jennifer Pheonix; 13 great grandchildren and an a number of nieces, nephew, cousins and extended family members.
