Dr. William Simeon "Bill" Moorman, age 83, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Langdale Place. Born on February 24, 1943, in Lakeland, Georgia, he was the beloved son of the late Warren Simeon Moorman and Francis Lovejoy Moorman.

Dr. Moorman graduated from Lanier County High School, Valdosta State College then attended the University of Louisville Dental School. After graduating dental school he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he practiced dentistry while stationed at Parris Island. Dentistry was far more than a profession to him, it was his life's calling. He approached every patient with compassion, kindness, and genuine care, treating each person as though they were a member of his own family. In 1972, he established his own dental practice in Valdosta, where he faithfully served the community for decades. Later in his career, he joined his son, Ashley, at Advanced Dental Care, where the two had the privilege of practicing side by side until Dr. Moorman's retirement after an extraordinary 50-year career. Throughout his distinguished career, he earned numerous professional honors and the admiration of colleagues and patients alike.

Above all else, Dr. Moorman was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ whose faith was the foundation of his life. Throughout the years, he faithfully served in several churches, answering God's call in many capacities, including as a home church pastor, deacon, marriage counselor, and dedicated Bible study leader and participant. Dr. Moorman was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and he cherished every opportunity to be present for them. Whether it was a T-ball game, football game, wrestling match, or any other activity, his children and grandchildren could always count on seeing him in the stands, cheering them on with unwavering encouragement and pride.

A passionate advocate for youth athletics, Dr. Moorman was actively involved with local athletic booster clubs and generously gave of his time and resources to encourage and support many young athletes throughout the community.

Along with his parents, Dr. Moorman is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Katherine “Mary K” Moorman and his brother, Dr. James W. “Jimmy” Moorman.

Dr. Moorman is survived by his sons: Dr. Ashley Moorman (Melanie) of Valdosta, Georgia, and Dr. Ryan Moorman (Kristi) of Valdosta, Georgia; his grandchildren: Ashton Moorman, Bay Moorman, Mills Moorman, Marli Kate Moorman and Maggi Moorman; niece, Susan Morrman McCranie (Mike) and numerous other family members.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta. Following the service, the family will receive friends from 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
