Died peacefully surrounded by family and devoted caregiver, Marilyn Williams, on February 26, 2016.
She was born on March 28, 1924 to Eric and Eva Garmaster in Brisbane, Australia. She met her husband, Burt, during World War II while he was stationed there, and she, eventually, came to San Francisco in January 1947 to marry that soldier at the young age of 22. They eventually moved to Eustis, FL and opened a German restaurant called Bittner's. Even though she worked 12 hours a day, she still made time to be a full-time mom and would be our cheerleader at many swim meets. They worked tirelessly in the restaurant business for 30 years before retiring. After Burt passed away in 2001, she moved to Valdosta to be near her daughter, Yvette. She was a wonderful Mother, mentor, and best friend to her children. Her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile, and quick laughter will be sorely missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Burt; her oldest daughter, Cheryl Tibbals; and youngest daughter, Debbie Bittner.
Survivors are a son, Brant Linda Bittner of Wyomissing, PA; a daughter, Yvette Bill Moore of Valdosta; grandchildren, Lindsey Piedad, Trevis Tibbals, and Brandon Bittner; and several great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Valdosta on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Dulcie may be made to First Christian Church of Valdosta or the ASPCA. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . Music Funeral Services, Valdosta, is serving the Bittner family.
