Duwana Sue (Lewis) Bittinger, age 84, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia. She was born on March 25, 1941, in Nashville, Georgia to the late William Emmitt and Alma (Nix) Lewis. Sue was a brilliant artist with a deep love for gardening and an even greater love for her family. She welcomed everyone with open arms, no matter the circumstances, and was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. Sue was a loving, passionate, and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. Her warmth and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, David Harry Bittinger of Valdosta, Georgia; her son, Anthony E. Prandi (Katrina) of Hollywood, Florida; her daughter, Crystal Frye Desautels (David) of Acworth, Georgia; her son, H. Arnold Frye III (Tiersa Stalvey) of Hahira, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Rev. William Bernie Lewis (Susan).
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church (1441 Beulah Church Rd., Quitman, GA 31643). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 3-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to The Alzheimer’s Project via their website,
