Dzevad Turalic, 80
Of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Langdale Hospice. He was born to the late Hasan and Sefika Turalic on July 25, 1944, in Bosnia. He was the best dad, Djed “grandpa”, and husband anyone could ask for. The day his grandchildren were born was the day he became "Djed," a name that held more meaning to him than anything else in the world. Family was everything, and his love for them was immeasurable. He spent countless hours teaching kids how to swim and loving them. His kindness knew no bounds, and he always offered forgiveness with an open heart. His presence made everyone around him better.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Edin Turalic and Emir Turalic.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Nadira Turalic of Lakeland, Georgia; son, Armin Turalic, daughter, Amila Smith of Lakeland, Georgia; grandchildren: Farah Turalic, Dalal Turalic, Kegan Smith, and Jory Smith, all of Lakeland, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Emina Turalic of Lakeland, Georgia; son-in-law, Rodney Smith and numerous family members, including the Turalic, Ajanovic, Smailbegovic, Hadzibegovic, Hocklic, Hodzic, Smith, Brenner, Jovic, Davis and Bruch families.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at
