Earl Yeomans Jr., 92 Of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 16, 2025, at Middleburg Rehab and Nursing in Middleburg, Florida. He was born to the late Earl Yeomans Sr. and Verna Yeomans on January 8, 1933, in Valdosta, Georgia. Earl was a highly respected musician and DJ, known for his deep passion for swing music. His contributions to the genre earned him a spot in the Swing DJ Hall of Fame in 2009, a recognition of his expertise and influence in the swing dance community. In addition to his work as a DJ, Earl was also a talented bass player, performing in a band where his rhythmic style helped shape the sound and energy of their performances. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, J.M. Harris. Survivors include his cousins: Katherine Holston, Dale Holston, and Marilyn Harris, all of Valdosta, Georgia; Elaine Matthews of Las Vegas, Nevada; and special friends Gary and Susan Jones of Jacksonville, Florida, along with numerous cousins and extended family members. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2024. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
