He served in the United States Army and retired from General Motors as an Inspector. He is a member of Vicker's Church. He is preceded in death by a Son and a Daughter, Shirley Harrell Stone.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Guthrie Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
