Eddie Dean Connell

Eddie Dean Connell, age 76, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his home. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Burton M. Connell and Kathleen (Westberry) Simpson. He was a talented welder and enjoyed shooting his guns when he had the chance.

Along with his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Simpson and his sister, Vivian Graham.

He is survived by his children: Derek Connell of Nashville, Georgia and Mindy Ranger of Lakeland, Georgia; numerous grandchildren; siblings: Carlton “Buddy” and Myrtice Connell of Valdosta, Georgia, Robbie and Tammy Simpson of Valdosta, Georgia and James Simpson of Lake Park, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta. A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, Georgia.
