Edith Giddens

Of Lakeland passed away Friday afternoon June 10, 2011 in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland after declining health for several months.
She was born on March 2, 1917 in Berrien County, Georgia to the late William Allen and Mattie Watson Crosby. She was an active member Lakeland United Methodist Church where she served many children in the church nursery for over thirty years. She was also active Women's Club at the church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Giddens; five sisters Dolly Denmark, Inez Thornton, Floye Craven, Bernice Mims, Lucille Baker, one brother Leon Crosby, and one son-in-law, Jimmy Brantley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the Lakeland United Methodist Church with Pastor Pete Barlow and Rev. John B. Carroll officiating. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 13, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
