Edward Dewitt Mullis

Edward Dewitt Mullis passed away unexpectedly on the morning of October 31 2018.
Dewitt was preceded in death by his parents Tommy and Nadine Bennett Mullis. He is survived by his wife Brenda Mullis. Other surviving family members are sons John (Frances) Newburn, Mason Ledbetter, sister Sherry(Jim) Corbitt, brother Dewayne (Susie) Mullis of Maine. He is also survived by two sister in laws Vivian Ledbetter and Mary Joyce Bryant and several nieces and nephews and many other special friends. Dewitt AKA Bearcat, Big Block , Tiny lived life to the fullest and enjoyed it. Dewitt and his son John enjoyed bogging and mud racing for many years. Later in Dewitt’s life he was involved with go kart racing with his son Mason in which they won many races. He spent many hours working on their racing vehicles.Dewitt loved seeing his sons on the tracks. Dewitt also enjoyed hunting with both his sons. Both his sons played baseball and you could always count on Dewitt to be at the games supporting them. Dewitt will be missed by all as he was a huge man with a soft heart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 3 2018 at Lovejoy Community Church in Lanier County at 2:00 pm. No other visitation will be held as he will be cremated per his request. The family will receive visitors at the home that him and Brenda resided at until the service. All friends and family are invited to attend the service on Saturday November 3,2018.
