Edward Gurdine “Lawnmower Man” Stanley – 69

Of Valdosta passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on June 25, 1940 in Blount County, AL to the late Earby and Annie Mae Morgan Stanley. The most special gift was that he shared his love for his family and his love for his gift of music. He always new his gift came for God and he lived it that way. He was a member of Azalea City Church of God. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Earl Stanley.


Survivors include:Wife of 49 years, Louise Frier Stanley, Valdosta, GA, Daughter & Son-in-law, Cindy & Earl Musgrove, Valdosta, GA, Sons & Daughters-in-law, Doyle & Connie Stanley, Valdosta, GA, Stewart & Wanda Stanley Valdosta, GA, Grandchildren: Jennifer, Shanna, Chris, Keira, Thomas, Matthew, Chelsea and Lucas, Great Grandchild, Kayleigh Grace, Sister, Sandra Stanley, Moultrie, GA, Brothers, Benny Stanley, Norcross, GA, David Stanley, Ellenton, GA, A number of Nieces and Nephews

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Azalea City Church of God with Pastor Brett Jarriel, Rev. Raymond Gabbard and Rev. Bobby Frier officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations in honor of Gurdine Stanley to the Music Ministry at Azalea City Church of God, 247 North St. Augustine Road, Valdosta, Georgia 31601.
