Edwin Owen "Buddy" Benefield

Edwin Owen “Buddy” Benefield, 71 of Lakeland, Georgia died, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at The Lakeland Villa after a lengthy illness. He was born July 5, 1949 in Lakeland, Georgia to the late Allie Mae (McDonald) and Riley Vernon Benefield. He worked with Bi-State Roofing Company as Metal Fabricator for over 30 years. Buddy enjoyed racing and watching Nascar on Sunday afternoons. He was preceded in death by his parents and Niece, Heather Benefield.
He is survived by his children: Jason Benefield (Cindy) of Denver, Colorado, Chad Benefield (Leslie) of Roxboro, North Carolina and a daughter, Cassie Earl of Roanoke, Alabama; Grandchildren, Jordan, Micah, Carter, Allie, Isaac, Cayden, Hylee, Jackson and Caleb; Sister, Vera B. Peters of Ray City Georgia, Brother and sister-in-law: Jimmy Benefield (Sue) of Lakeland, Georgia; several nieces and one nephew also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Burnt Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the cemetery. The family asks that mask be worn and practice social distancing.
