Of Valdosta, GA passed away on early Friday morning, February 14, 2014 at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on August 12, 1927 in Dupont, GA to Dewey and Velma Sowell Cone. She was a devoted member of Forest Park Church of Christ where she served faithfully until health declined. She loved flowers, working in the yard and singing. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Eston Roberts, and two sisters, Elizabeth Wallace & Rita Benefield and daughter-in-law, Kathy L Roberts.
Her survivors include: Son, James Jimmy Roberts of Tifton, GA; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Glenda Sue & Richard Roper of Houston, TX; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Eston Eugene & Marlene Roberts of Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Joe Randall & Susan Roberts of Naylor, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Anthony Scott & Carla Gidden Roberts of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Holly & Donny McDuffie, Lt. Col. Richard K. Roper & Sonja, Nanci & Dustin Tuomey, Diane & Jeff Steuwe, Roxanne Roberts, Heather Roberts, Alesa & Jeff Gilmore, Shawn Eugene Roberts, Charity Robin Roberts & Michael Tomlinson; 10 Great Grandchild; Brother, J. D. Cone of Ray City, GA; Several Nieces & Nephews and Extended Family Members.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Forrest Park Church of Christ with burial to follow in New Ramah Cemetery in Ray City, GA. Ms. Roberts will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
