Elijah "Abb" Dave Stone, Sr.

Elijah "Abb" Dave Stone Sr., 77, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at his Nashville home surrounded by his family. Abb was born November 28, 1938 in Lanier County to Jim and Louannie Stone. Abb served in the United States Army in Germany during the time the Berlin Wall was going up. He worked as a quality control supervisor at Brockway Standard in Clinch County for 38 years. At the age of 56, he graduated from Valdosta Tech with a degree in Industrial Heating and Air Conditioning. After retiring due to health issues, he enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was well known for cooking delicious cane syrup and fishing with his family. Abb also passed down his art of farming to his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Jim and Louannie Stone; his brothers W.J., Winston "Ted", James "Doug", and Felton "Pete" Stone.
Abb is survived by his spouse, Domie Jean Warren Stone; his sister, Ermajean "Sis" Croft; his children, Abby Pearson and Dave Stone of Nashville; his grandchildren, Brandon and Marybeth Tolle of Gray, Bryce and Cynthia Tolle of Nashville, Sarah and Coy Chambers of Thomasville, and Dallas Stone of Nashville; great grandchild, Elijah Lewis Tolle of Gray, extended family and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00PM in Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, GA with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the church. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
