Elizabeth Sutton, 83 Of Quitman, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on December 29, 1941, in Nashville, Georgia, to the late George W. Kelly and Birdie (Woods) Kelly. Elizabeth was a kind and lovable person, known for her deep devotion to her family, who were always the center of her world. Elizabeth’s fiery spirit and unwavering love for life made her a force to be reckoned with, and her infectious personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, finding joy in shopping, dining out with loved ones, and working at Winn-Dixie in Lake Park, Georgia. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie Sutton; second husband, Temp Stanford; her daughter, Wanda Sutton; and her siblings: Fred Kelly, D.C. Kelly, and Reba Jean Stone. Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Linda Sue Pittman of Valdosta, Georgia; Larry Stone of Tifton, Georgia; Lucy Bown of Nashville, Georgia; Terrell Kelly of Nashville, Georgia; Ludine Stalvey of Valdosta, Georgia; Patricia Newbern of Nashville, Georgia; Tony Stone of Nashville, Georgia; Teresa Hatcher of Valdosta, Georgia; Scott Kirkland of Jacksonville, Florida; Steven Kirkland of Nashville, Georgia; and Linda Bailes of Milton, Florida. She is also survived by her special friend, Christie Webb of Valdosta, Georgia, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta, with burial to follow at Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
