Ellen "Nanny" Hersey – 76
Of Valdosta passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Pine Mount, Fl on August 13, 1939 to the late Thomas & Hattie Crawford Mullis. Mrs. Hersey worked as a secretary with Interstate Life/Gulf Life Insurance for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was Baptist by faith and was faithful in reading her bible. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hersey, sister, Mary McCray, brothers, Marvin Mullis, Johnnie Mullis, Leroy Mullis and Joseph Mullis.
Survivors Include: 2 daughters & son-in-law, Janice & Jerry Clayton, Valdosta, Sandra Adams, Valdosta; 3 grandchildren: Jamie Bolen, Kristi Adams Jeremy Williams and Kayla Brooks Brandon; 5 great grandchildren: Ansleigh Justice, Ava Grace Justice, Emori Williams, Cameron Brooks & Logan Brooks; friends to few and Nanny to many, special niece, Rhonda Jackson David, Thomasville, GA; special nephew: Mike Mullis Darlene, Lake City, Fl and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 6, 2016 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with a private family burial in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services.
