Emily Clara (Taylor) Joiner – 83
Of Valdosta, GA, formerly of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA. She was born in Jacksonville, FL to Norman S. and Claral Taylor. She was a member of the Class of 1951 at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL. She retired as an Administrative Assistant from the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta after 35 years. She moved from Jacksonville, FL to Valdosta, GA in 2001 and she was an active member of Civitan International for over 30 years. Mrs. Joiner was a member of Grace Community Chapel in Valdosta. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Joiner; her brother, Norman W. Taylor; niece, Denise Irby Baskin, and a brother-in-law, Otto D. Irby.
Survivors include her Sister, Marcelies T. Irby of Valdosta, GA; Sister-in-Law, Kay F. Taylor of Red Rock, TX; Nieces, Linda Irby Sidener (Bill) of Milledgeville, GA, Redetha Irby Jernstad (Warren) of Des Moines, IA, Kimberly T. Cordick (Rodney) of Red Rock, TX, Kelly Taylor of Temple, TX;
Nephews, Dennis Irby (Shirley) of Valdosta, GA, Gary Irby (Cindy) of Stockbridge, GA,
Ryan Taylor (Tonya) of Whitehouse, TX, David Taylor (Cindy) of Austin, TX; and many great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville, FL with Elder T. C. Norris officiating.
