Emma Dora Moore – 76 of Valdosta died peacefully on March 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 11, 1941 in Cook County, GA to the late Benjamin Franklin and Lucille (Johnson) Felts. She served as an active member of Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church since 1968 and also served as the church secretary. Having a love for Cat Creek Church, she also was the cemetery secretary/treasurer for many years. There was never a kinder, sweeter person on this earth. Without a doubt, one of the best cooks in the area. She loved her family, her flowers, her chickens, her Cat Creek Church family and her chocolate lab, Buddy. She and her husband, Jimmy were known for their Mayhaw trees, jelly & juice. She was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frank and Pate Horne; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Martha Sansberry; Brother, Bill Sansbury; Sister and brother-in-law, Carnell and Herbert Bryant; Sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Leo Tetrault; Daughter-in-law, Beth Moore.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jimmy Moore and their children: Gayle Griffin, Becky Griffin Carroll, Gary Moore, Randy Moore, and Vicky (Alex) Stubbs; grandchildren: Suzanne (Scottie) Kiser, Sour Lake, TX; Krystal Carroll, Nederland, TX; Shannon (Rancho) Moore, Warner Robbins; Travis Moore, Stephanie Flaugher, Amber Nunn, Joshua Barrett, Jennifer Stein all of Valdosta and 20 dearly loved great-grandchildren; sister-in-Law: Marlene Sansbury Evans and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 26, 2018 in the Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Moore will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the funeral home.
