Of Ray City passed away early Saturday morning, September 24, 2011 in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 8, 1942 to the late John B. and Arizona Varney Nelson. She worked with Louis Smith Memorial Hospital for over 25 years in the nursing field. She served as a Registered Nurse since 1995. She is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ann Crum, Dollie Nelson, and Alma Gail Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services and burial to follow in Empire Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, September 26, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
