Emory Fred Sanders, Sr., 83, of Valdosta, Georgia, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on October 23, 1937 in Troy, Alabama to the late Emily Lenora Strickland and Fred Sanders. He was retired as a supervisor from Crackin Good Bakery in Valdosta. He was a loving husband, loving dad, enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid Viking and Roll Tide Fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Jack Sanders and Phillip Sanders and one brother Larry Sanders. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 Years Rhonda Kay Sanders of Valdosta, Georgia, daughter, Tammy S. Cabrera and husband Edgar of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, daughter Joni S. Carlsen of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Freddie Sanders and wife Jamie of Valdosta, Georgia, daughter Tonya S. Davis and husband Matt of Valdosta, Georgia; 12 Grandchildren: Kristi, Karen, Mariah, Jessi, Jimmy, Crista, Devin, Danielle, Jackson, Zeke, Eli and Emie; 12 greatgrandchildren, 1 brother Earl Sanders of Quitman, Georgia and 1 sister Evelyn S. Weaver of Monticello, Georgia; host of nieces, nephews and many close friends also survives. Private family services will be held at a later time.
