Mother of Dianne English passed away Monday, September 17, 2007, at Smith Northview Hospital after a lengthily illness. She was born on August 11, 1918 to the late Alma and Mamie Griffin Adams, in Calhoun County. Mrs. Erma was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband James McDowell, son Alma W. Hurst, and Grandson Darrell Hurst.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2007, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, with burial following at Friendship cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 20, 2007, from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
