Of Valdosta, passed away early Saturday, March 3, 2007 at his residence after a sudden illness. Mr. Harried was born November 11, 1911 in Lowndes County to the late Jesse Councel and Margaret Pipkins Hairred. He was a carpenter for the State of Georgia, working as a supervisor of a construction crew in Jekyll Island. After retirement he returned to Valdosta to enjoy his family and spending time at his farm where he raised cows and many other farm animals. Mr. Hairred was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lou Ellis, and a sister, Oneida Hendricks.
Survivors include: 3 Daughters & Son-in-Law, Vickie Clark, Atlanta, GA, Linda & Dan Young, Debbie Briguglio; 3 Sons, Dale Hairred, Daryell Hairred, Wayne Hairred, all of Valdosta, 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Nephew, Howard Hendricks , Brooks County, GA; Special friends, Sonny Coody, Ralph Moore, Buddy Meeks, Helen Blanton, Dick Davis, all of Valdosta
Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Carlton Allen officiating.
