Of Valdosta passed away Monday, April 30, 2007 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born on February 3, 1916. For most of his life he worked as a carpenter building condos and apartments in California. Mr. Lechner was a life member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Adonna White and a son, Rod Lechner.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Fletcher officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
