Of Arlington, TX formerly of Lakeland, GA passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 in an assisted living facility, Isle at Watercrest in Mansfield, TX. She was born on June 22, 1938 in Lakeland, GA to the late Noah and Lavie Jewel Fountain Chaney. She was a member of the Church of God where she was a Sunday school teacher and taught children missionettes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Winston B. Howell and her brothers, Joe Buford Chaney, Luther Glen Chaney, Talmadge Chaney, Hubert Chaney, Eugene "Bud" Chaney, Clifford Chaney, and her sisters, Mabel Atwell and Dorothy Bennett.
Her survivors include her Daughter: Pam Howell of Burleson, TX; Son: Stephen W. Howell of Phoenix, AZ;
Granddaughter: Samantha Lassiter of Burleson, TX; Grandson: Brandon Lassiter of Burleson, TX;
Sister-in-law: Ellen Chaney of Naylor, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Good Hope Baptist Church in Lowndes County, GA. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
