Of Valdosta passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was born October 13, 1915 to the late John Thomas and Elizabeth Spradley Bennett in Cook County, GA. He worked with Georgia Paper Company as a truck driver for 15 years and was a member of Poplar Springs Missonary Baptist Church in Berrien County, GA. He was preceded in death by his wives, Della Bennett, Eula Bennett, Ollie Mae Bennett & Pauline Ray Bennett, Sons, Dell Bennett, E.J. Bennett, Jr., & Coy Bennett, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He was much loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors Include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Geneva & Hubert Martin, Conyers, GA, Sylvia & Dewayne Sellars, Conyers, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Paul & Dot Bennett, Valdosta, GA; Daughter-in-law, Brenda Bennett, Savannah, GA; 13 Grandchildren and a number of Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Long Bridge Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday night, June 20, 2011 at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the Bennett family.
