She was born and raised in Wayne County, GA, moving to Texas where she raised her family before returning to this area to be closer to her daughter, brothers and sister. She was a member of the Lakeland Church of Christ.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Screven City Cemetery in Screven, GA.
