Of Hahira passed away Saturday, December 31, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Taylor County, Ga. to the late David and Reva Gassett. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of Services. Mr. Gassett was a regional supervisor with Columbia Oil Company. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church in Hahira, GA

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday Jan. 3, 2005 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with the Rev. Tom Studstill officiating. Burial was held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday in the Crystal Hill Cemetery in Thomaston, Ga. where full military honors will be rendered. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Memorial fund at Pineview Baptist Church at 3937 Snake Nation Road, Hahira, GA. 31632.
