Eula “Lynn” Connell, age 65, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home in Naylor after an illness of several months. Lynn was born February 10, 1960 in Valdosta, the only child of Kathryn Coreatha and Charles Milton Connell, and had lived in this area all her life. She was a life long member of Valdosta First Methodist Church and attended Good Hope Baptist Church in Naylor.
Lynn graduated from Valdosta High School in 1978 where she was a member of the Valdosta High Marchin’ Cats band. She played the clarinet, was in the flag corps, and a member of the Sigma Delta Sorority. Upon graduation she enrolled at Valdosta State College (University) where she earned a B. S. Degree in Early Childhood Education, graduating in the same ceremony with her mother who was awarded her Master’s Degree. She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in the same field at Valdosta State College. Upon graduation she was employed as a teacher in the Lowndes County School System for seven years. She then attended Valdosta Technical School (Wiregrass) receiving her BOT diploma. She was employed by the school for two years teaching GED classes. Later she was employed in admissions at South Georgia Medical Center for six years.
After the death of her father and her mother’s health began to decline, she left full-time employment to become her full-time caregiver. She did it single handed with love, kindness, patience, and compassion until her death in 2023.
Survivors include her cousins, Sylvia Newman, her husband John, and their children of Prattville, Alabama, Johnny Milhous, his wife Carrie, and their children of Tallahassee, Florida, Daniel Connell, and his children of Watkinsville, Georgia, and her aunt, Barbara Milhous, of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her three uncles, Dr. Clyde “Gene” Connell, Emory Connell, and John Milhous.
A special “Thank You” from the family to Lynn’s neighbors, friends, church families, caregivers, Rev. Music, and Hospice of South Georgia for the prayers, home cooked meals, cards, visits, phone calls, flowers, and love shown during her illness. They will always be remembered.
