Of Lake Park, GA passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Godwin was born October 21, 1951 in Dublin, GA to the late James Howard & Evelyn King Godwin. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. He was retired from law enforcement after 20 years of service, primarily with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and being Papa.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA with burial to follow in Lake Park Cemetery. Mr. Godwin will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends Friday, September 28, 2012 at Music Funeral Services in Valdosta, GA from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
