Forrest “Buzz” Frank Fenton, Jr., 85
of Ray City, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Buzz was born on July 22, 1939, in Concord, New Hampshire, to the late Forrest Frank Fenton, Sr. and Doris Stone Fenton. A proud veteran, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Following his service, Buzz built a successful career as a Sales Representative with Brown Distributing, where he was respected by colleagues and clients alike before retiring.
A man of simple joys and steadfast values, Buzz treasured time with his family above all else. He found happiness in quiet evenings spent talking on the porch, lively family game nights filled with laughter, and the many adventures he shared while traveling and cruising. He was a huge Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Bulldogs fan and loved nothing more than kicking back and watching them play on college football Saturdays.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Fenton and his brother, Robert L. Fenton.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marie Fountain Fenton of Ray City, Georgia; son, Derek Fenton (fiancé Jacquelyn) of Ray City, Georgia; son, Forrest F. Fenton, III (Pam) of Ridgeway, South Carolina; daughter, Jan F. Stecker (Andy)of Murphy, North Carolina; sister, Annlee Edes of Concord, New Hampshire; grandchildren: Dustin, Tara, Ryan and Avery; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 28, 2025 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Lakeland where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, April 28, 2025. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at
