Frances Vanelle Baskin

Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Fellowship Home. She was born January 30, 1916 to the late Lyle and Annie Hood Scruggs in Ousley, Georgia and resided most of her life in Naylor and Lakeland before moving to Valdosta. She was retired from the Lowndes County School System. She is preceded in death by her husband, John William Baskin, Sr.
Survivors include:
Sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Lynn Baskin of Hilton Head Island, SC and James and Annette Baskin of Brooksville, FL., brother and sister-in-law, Stewart & Doris Scruggs of Valdosta, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City, Georgia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethany Hospice, 2517 Bemiss Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602 or a charity of your choice.
