Of Valdosta passed away Friday, May 08, 2009 in South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Clarke County, GA on May 25, 1919 to the late Garvin and Sara Wilson. She retired from Thomas Textile as a seamstress after 40 years of service. Mrs. Echols was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Echols and 2 brothers, C.W. Wilson and J.P. Wilson.
Survivors Include: Daughter, Ruth Prather, Hilliard, FL; Son, Randall Melton, Gainesville, GA; Grandchildren: Kim Walker David, Stacey Prather Wendy, Lisa Brown Frank and Lee Melton; 8 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Mabelle Slayton, Athens, GA, Dot Thomas, Colbert, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held in the Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, GA. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
