Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at her residence following a decline in health for several years. She was born on August 31, 1926 in Grady County, GA to the late Albert and Romelle Barineau Harrell. She was a member of the Lakeland United Methodist Church in Lakeland and was a member of the Lakeland Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Babes Bream and Bass Club. She was employed with Brockway Standard Containers in Homerville, GA for 31 years prior to her retirement several years ago. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Slim Giddens, a sister, Martha Spells, a sister and brother-in-law, Nelda & A.Q. Strickland, a sister and brother-in-law, Roma & Jack Harrell, and a brother and sister-in-law, Murray & Virgie Lee Harrell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to the United Hospice of Valdosta, GA.
