Frances Elizabeth Griffin

Frances Elizabeth (Guess) Griffin, lovingly known as “Mama”, “Nanny”, and “Little Granny”, age 78, of Valdosta, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Albany, GA following a brief illness. She was born on December 3, 1947, in Valdosta to the late Bernice Jacobs Guess and Wallace “Pete” Guess. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. Her enjoyment involved listening to music, especially listening to Buddy sing, reading her Bible, and spending precious time surrounded by those she loved. She welcomed everyone into her home and never met a stranger. Her kindness, faith and caring heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, William “Pete” Lee and her brother, Tommy Lee Guess.

Survivors include her children, Buddy (Lisa) Roberts, Tony (Robin) Roberts, and Donna Kay Richo; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Johnny Lamar Guess, Diane Bohannon, and Maryann Buford; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta with burial to follow at Hall cemetery in Morven, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
