Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in Lakehaven Nursing Home after a recent bout with pneumonia.

Frances was born on June 16, 1918 in Douglas, GA. to the late Frank W. & Eleanor Smith Wilson of Valdosta, GA.

Frances Johnson was a member of the First Christian Church. As a young girl she attended the Georgia State Women's College now Valdosta State University. She was married for 68 years to A. Sidney Johnson until his death in 2005. Frances and Sidney lived in North Carolina, Virginia and Florida before returning to Valdosta for most of their retirement years.

Frances lived a life full of activities involving interior decorating, multiple retail businesses, church work, theatre, dance, as well as many different creative projects. Throughout her life of numerous achievements and successes, most notable and enduring to those who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, was her authentic joy of life, sincere caring for others and love of friendships.

Survivors include:daughter & son-in-law, Joy & Mack Mixer, Dawsonville, GA, sons & daughters-in-law, Frank & Mary Jean Johnson, Dasher, GA, Freddie & Peggy Johnson, Gainesville, FL, six Grandchildren, eight Great Grandchildren, two Great-Great Grandchildren, sister, Grace Slade, West Point, GA, brother & sister-in-law, Robert W."Bob" & Lee Wilson, Valdosta, GA

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, April 25, 2008 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the funeral home.
