Frank E. Watson – 77
Of Valdosta, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Fellowship Home at Brookside in Valdosta, GA. Mr. Watson was born on February 16, 1942 in Morven, Georgia to the late Albert and Ruth (Hill) Watson. Frank was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force from 1961 until 1969 and also worked as a maintenance supervisor for Langdale Forest Products. He was known to his family as “Papa Franko a.k.a. Gun Fighter”. Frank had a unique skill as a marksman, enjoyed hunting and was an avid gun collector and as a hobby he reloaded his own ammunition. Along with his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Cauthen) Watson of Abilene, TX.
Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law; Alan Pike (Angie Heard) Watson of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren; Aaron Pike (Michelle Purvis) Watson and Austin “Red” Watson; Great Granddaughter, Aries Rose Watson; Sisters; Opal Herndon, Valdosta and Judy McCandless, Baton Rouge, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Hall Cemetery in Morven, GA. Messages of sympathy may be expressed to the family by visiting
