Frederick Glen Knight

October 20, 1959 — January 2, 2019

Frederick Glen Knight, 59, of Lake Park, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 2, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on October 20, 1959 in Syracuse, NY to the late Warren Knight and Ellen Knight (Allen). He was an executive chef and a culinary teacher at First Coast Technical College in St. Augustine for 20 years. After leaving St. Augustine, he was a chef contractor first in Colorado, then Alaska, from the Aleutian Islands to the Beaufort Sea. While in Alaska he met and married his wife, Kathy where they both retired and moved to Lake Park, GA. He loved volunteering at soup kitchens, and several other organizations. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with family. Glen’s heart was larger than himself and was always kind and willing to help others. His humor and quick wit will be missed by all. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Sharpe and Brother-in-law, Larry Koutz.
Survivors include his Wife, Kathy Knight of Lake Park, GA; Son, Riley Knight of Coronado, CA; Daughter, Sarah Knight of Coronado, CA; Sister, Teresa Knight Koutz of Valdosta, GA; Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at New Life Community Church of Lake Park, 7505 Zeigler Road, Lake Park, GA 31636.
