Geary Gene Spires

Geary Gene Spires – 74 of Valdosta, GA passed away on Sunday April 19, 2020 at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Geary was born on August 28, 1945 in Indian Town, FL to the late James and Elizabeth (Gillis) Spires. He was an engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad for many years. Geary was a loving and dedicated father to his children. He enjoyed eating at the Waffle House, motorcycles, and most of all spending time with his family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Spires; daughter, Renee Spires; grandson, Jarod McKinnon; brother, Larry Spires.
Children: Ken Spires and wife, Tammy of Quitman, Toni Spires Hudson and husband, David of Valdosta, GA, Tracy Spires Rigdon and husband, Ken of Valdosta, GA; 8 Grandchildren: Kelly, Kari, Jamie, Thomas, Brooke, Scotty, Dylan, Kendall; 5 Great grandchildren: Andrew, Emily, Addison, Asher, Emma; Sisters: Melba S. Mosely of Macon, GA, Kay S. Jones of Macon, GA, Sheila S. Johns and husband, Marvin (Punk) of Macon, GA.
