George and Karen Folsom

George Hill Folsom, III, 82, and his beloved wife, Karen Kokomoor Folsom, 79, both formerly of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away peacefully just months apart. George passed away on April 11, 2026, and Karen passed away on May 26, 2025. Together, they shared a life centered on family, dedication, and love.

Karen was born on December 16, 1945, in Pasadena, California, to the late Dr. Marvin Lavon Kokomoor and Mabel Kittrell McAliley Kokomoor. She grew up in Gainesville, Florida, and spent most of her adult life in Alpharetta, Georgia, where she worked for many years with the Fulton County Library System. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Henry, Mary, and Frank Kokomoor.

George was born on May 26, 1943, in Lakeland, Georgia, to the late George Hill Folsom, II, and Audrey Patten Folsom. He was raised in Lakeland, Georgia, and spent most of his life in Alpharetta, Georgia, where he worked as a software engineer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. George H. Folsom and Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Patten.

Together, George and Karen built a loving family and leaves behind cherished memories with their daughters, Amy Folsom and Heather Sherrington (Gregg); and their grandchildren, Henry Folsom, Dylan Sherrington, Brandon Sherrington, and Caitlin Sherrington. George is also survived by his sister, Carol Folsom Smith, and his special cousin, Ronald Patten Fike (Deborah).

George and Karen will be remembered for the lives they shared, the family they loved deeply, and the lasting impact they made on those who knew them.

A celebration of life service will be held for both George and Karen at 10:00am, Friday, May 29, 2026 at Burnt Church Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia, where they will both be laid to rest.
